Laclathan
Laclathan is a planetary system in the 23 Maia galaxy. It was terraformed and settled by Dhekene humans fleeing the expansion of TTMA sometime before 790,000 AA. The settlers who became the Laclathani practiced a human-centered totalitarian form of social isolation and control with the aim of resisting the influence of various other species.
History
Settlement
When they decided to flee Maia Zero, the Laclathani embarked on a series of superluminal jumps. At some of these jumps, the Laclathani were forced to stop and resupply, sometimes for decades while they constructed new or replacement ships. They were but one of many participants in a massive wave of migrations during that historical period. Eventually they left Maia Zero entirely, using a series of rogue planets between Maia Zero and 23 Maia to cross the vast intergalactic gulf between them.

For thousands of years, the Laclathani maintained their isolation and rigid culture. Central to the legitimacy of their regime were tales of the supposed degenerate and dangerous nature of TTMA and its facilitators. Even as other species and cultures began settling nearby star systems, the people of Laclathan were strictly barred from contact.
